This week I want to share something that has truly changed a lot for me. I can’t tell you how many notebooks I have that are half-full of devotionals/journals! I typically will just read a passage in the Bible and then journal/write down what stuck out to me. I’ve never really used anything guided because I don’t want someone else’s view influencing how I perceive the Word. Enter Daily Kairos. This journal is exactly what I have needed my whole life. It’s guided, but not in a “this is what you should be feeling/this is what God is telling you” way. It is daily, with reminders marking the end of each week. Every day there is a section to: memorize a Bible verse of your choosing, write 3 things you are grateful for, write an intention for your day, jot down what you’re reading in the Bible and what you feel God is putting on your heart, and (my favorite) a section to write down how you’ve seen/felt God on that specific day. At the end of each week there is a section to: write down a “theme” from each day, put together the pieces of the week and see the overarching message, write a faith-based goal for the next week, and write the Bible verses you have already memorized. Kairos is a qualitative description of time in Greek. It means an “opportune time or moment.” Ya’ll I have never been more awakened to how God is moving in my life than using this journal. When you take the time for literal “daily kairos,” you begin to see exactly how much God speaks to us/moves us. Small ways that we otherwise overlook because we aren’t trying to find them.
